| 1972 | Mr EA Keesing appointed Principal on transfer from Esperance. 40 children attende a school camp at Toodyay. Mid-year interviews with parents drew an interested and near unanimous response. |
| 1973 | 36 children made a week long exchange visit to Yakamia School, Albany. The annual graduation dinner and social for senior children was instituted. |
| 1974 | The enrolment in March was 413 pupils. The Governor, Air Commodore Hughie Edwards, VC, CB, DSO, OBE, DFC, (later to become Sir) returned to his former school for an official visit. Approximately 300 former pupils laso attended. Position of Library Aide became available to school. An educational tour of the Eastern States by children from the senior classes was made. Another party attended a samp at Muresk Agricultural College. |
| 1975 | Adventure Playground, planned by pupils in 1974, was completed Services of Health Sister and Social Worker became available to the school. Exchange visit to Harvey School. The Disadvantaged Schools Programme funding of school projects. |
| 1976 | 75th Anniversary of school opening on 15th April 1901. Celebrations held over until opening of John Walton Library and Resource Centre on October 22nd by Hon Minister for Education, Mr G McKinnon. New Honour Board listing Citizenship prizewinners was unveiled. Miss R Mitchell retired from teaching 18 years at White Gum Valley. Senior children toured the Pilbara accompanied by Japanese Rotory Scholar. Twice weekly classes in Italian language commenced. |
| 1977 | Special presentation assembly for Miss R Mitchell and Mr A Klemm, transferred as Deputy Principal to Wembley Downs after 24 years service at White Gum Valley. Excahnge visit by Donnybrook DHS. |
| 1978 | School enrolment 374. Appointment of Art/Craft Specialist (3/5). Mr Brown and Mrs. Hamilton took up duties as Deputy Principals. New classrooms and toilets started. All classrooms were carpeted and refurnished. Educational visit to Shark Bay School. |
| 1979 | New building of 4 classrooms (replacing Bristols) and new toilet block in operation. WAY '79 competitions and activities, participation Art/Craft Exhibition held in Fremantle Exhibition Hall. Telecom book cover competition winners - special assembly for presentation. Exchange visit by Kukerin School. During the erection of the northern basketball stand outside the canteen an old brick lined well was discovered. |
| 1980 | Extensions to Adventure Playground. Appointment of Mrs C Buzza, Deputy Principal. Installation of water bore and opening of Pre-Primary centre. |
