1921 "Considerable inconvenience is being caused by the repairing of the floors having begun simultaneously with the re-opening of school. The hat rooms and corridors being utilised to accommodate the classes whose rooms are being repaired".

Site chosen for new building.

1922 Plans were drawn up for the erection of a ten room school, with six classrooms, an office, two shelter areas and two hat and cloak rooms to comprise the first stage.  A piano was presented by the Parents Association at a cost of £52.0.0.

 

1923 Boys from Class III upwards visited the cricket match on the Fremantle Oval between NSW and a Fremantle team. 

Deputation from P&C meet with Minister for Education, Hon J Ewing MLC and Mr A McCallum MLA the local member, to remind him of his predecessor's promises in respect of the new school.

1923 Point Walter

1924 Commenced supplying milk to children who pay for it. The milk is supplied to the school at 1/7d per gallon and the children pay 6d per week, each child getting half a pint per day.

1925 On June 15th a contract was let to Mr G Lithgo for the erection of the White Gum Valley School to cost £4,445.0.0. "The Foundation Stone of the new school was laid this afternoon by the Hon A McCallum, MLA, Minister for Works in the presence of a large gathering, including besides local residents, M's P for the district, Mr JA Klein MA District Inspector, Mayor and Councilors of Fremantle, Head Teachers of neighbouring schools, and representatives of P&C Association and a number of interesting speeches were made. Apologies for absence were received from the Minister of Education and a number of others!"

1925 Unknown class

1926 On the 17th April the school was officially opened by the Hon JW Hickey MLC. Portion of the old building comprising the infants room and the room adjoining it were converted into a hall.  By September the rest of the school had been purchased and removed. Enrolment pressures later forced the hall to revert to classroom use in the early fifties.

36 strong, 2 year old trees planted in the playground in clumps, 6 Norfolk pines were included.

"The Press reports today probable deductions ranging from 3.75% to 7.5% of salaries, as from Oct 21st. This Involves the Head Teacher in a sacrifice of £39 and assistants (on £224) of £8-8-0."
