|
Measles and Mumps epidemic. July 21st, "Arbor Day was
celebrated at the school and a dozen trees were planted." School

Cows get into the much nurtured garden and destroy the trees. Diphtheria
outbreak. Vandals break into school and damage charts. Influenza
epidemic.

The Governor, the Mayor and Councilors visited the school.

"Cows broke into the vegetable garden during the night
and completely destroyed the beds, which were in a very promising

Typhoid fever in school. Measles epidemic. |

|
Additions were made to the school quarters. October 26
the District Honour Board unveiled by Mayor of Fremantle, WE Wray. A
large gathering of parents and friends were present. Visitors included the
following: - Chief Inspector Hon RJ Lynn, MLC Mr SM Rocke, MLA Ex Mayor of
Fremantle Mr W Murphy, Hon Sec of Committee of School Management, Mr A
McLeod and Mr H Thomas Headmaster of Subiaco by whom the school had been
opened. electric light fittings installed in the school quarters and
connected to Tramway Board electric lighting system.

The Parents Association was formed.

1920
|
School was broken into, damage but no items stolen. Class 6
sent to Central Fremantle to relieve over crowding. Teacher's strike
in July 12th - 30th. Minister for Education acknowledges need for new school.
The garden is still under attack, this time by local goats.
